We’ve been in our 2,000 sq. foot showroom for 10 months now and really love our space. It’s an eclectic mix of event elements and has become our own event space that we’ve nicknamed The TEC Lounge. We stock beer, wine, and snacks and we’re always ready for spontaneous gatherings.
We just hosted the Corporate Volunteer Council’s Signature Project Kick-off reception and press conference. This fit in with our core value of supporting our community and for an added bonus we made some great new connections that could result in business. That’s what I call a win-win.
The Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) is an entity of the United Way providing a conduit for companies to structure their volunteer programs. 2010 is the first time that the CVC is doing a signature project where member companies will volunteer for the Samaritan Center. 39 companies (including The Events Company) have made the commitment to support the Samaritan Center. The Samaritan Center served 100,000 meals last year. Many individuals/families choose to go without food in order to pay the mortgage, rent, electric bill, car payment, or other necessary expense. The Samaritan Center is their safety net. And the Samaritan Center staff and volunteers are committed to ensuring that they are always ready with a meal.
